Selling or applying for an Artesia Liquor License in Los Angeles is complicated and can take as long as 4 months. More often than not, this is the last thing any business owner would want to hear especially in the hospitality industry. Running a business is already stressful enough and going through all the legalities is one process no one wants to go through. To avoid any hassle and make sure the license application goes pleasantly, you should know the ins and outs of the open market and how it works.
The Artesia Liquor License is issued by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). They require certain measures to follow and documents to provide in obtaining a license. It sure is dragging for anyone to learn everything overnight, but you can make things easier if you do you research in advance. Especially because there are so many types of licenses depending on the business that you intend to run. For example, some licenses require no less than half of your income to originate from food sales. Other licenses are designated for only selling closed containers to be consumed off the premises.

Our agency is NALCP-certified and we have more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry. We are also 30% cheaper than our competition which is a big advantage to our clients. Whether you are in the market to buy a liquor license, or you are thinking of selling one that you already own, we guarantee that our services will make the process simple and stress-free.

Type 20 & 21 Liquor
License

Both Type 20 and Type 21 licenses are designated for the sale of alcohol for off-premises consumption. Minors are allowed on the premises of businesses that are issued this type of license. The Type 20 license is issued for the sale of packaged beer and wine, while the Type 21 is designated for the sale of general packaged alcohol, including spirits and liquor.

Type 41 & 47 Liquor
License

Probably some of the most common types of liquor licenses, the Type 41 and Type 47 licenses are specifically designated for businesses that primarily serve food. The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control states that, in order to be issued a Type 41 or Type 47 license, your facility must be a “bona fide eating place.” 51% of the total sales should come from food.

Type 48 Liquor
License

Type 48 licenses differ from Type 41 and Type 47 licenses as they are used in establishments that are not primarily eateries. Type 48 Licenses are typically issued for bars and nightclubs. The Type 48 license permits the holder to serve liquor until 2:00 AM. Unique to this license, the Type 48 allows closed containers of beer or wine to be sold for “off-premises” consumption.

Artesia Liquor License Facts

The liquor licensing process in Los Angeles is a very important yet long process but it has to be done especially if you have a business to run. Since the whole transaction can take up to 4 months, it’s important to be aware of the different circumstances that can happen. The ABC will, at times, not issue you a permit because the county that you are applying for already is oversaturated with licenses. When this happens, you may have to purchase your Artesia Liquor License in the open market. It may be expensive, but it may be your only choice.

But if you do go through with getting a license with the ABC, they will start an examination of your application within 30 days. Licensing fees in some counties can be as low as $30 and as high as $1200. Regardless of whether you intend to obtain your Artesia Liquor License from the ABC or from the open market, we at Liquor License Agents can help you through the entire process.
