SACRAMENTO COUNTY LIQUOR LICENSE

Sacramento Liquor Licenses are managed by the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control. If you are currently in Sacramento looking to buy or sell a liquor license, you may need to review the different types of permits available. Permits to sell or buy can vary on the type of business you are running. Some licenses may require no less than half of your income to come from food sales and other licenses are solely for selling containers that are to be consumed only off the premises.
The whole process is very expensive and can set you back as long as 4 months. In order to make the whole process hassle-free, you have to gear yourself with the right knowledge about the ins and outs of the open market as well as the requirements needed by the California Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control (ABC). Without the proper information, you can risk losing valuable time and money as a buyer or seller.

Sacramento County Liquor License Facts
Upon submitting your application, a notice will be served at the location of your business. This is a courtesy notification to notify the people in the area of your intention to sell liquor. If there are no qualms received about your application, ABC will review all the information you wrote on your application. In some cases, depending on the local liquor policy, you may need to get a separate license if you intend to serve liquor on your premises. Make sure you are aware of these policies before you apply.
ABC, however, may not automatically accommodate your application and issue you a Sacramento Liquor License especially if your county has exceeded their quota of liquor licenses. If you ever find yourself in this rut, you will have to purchase your license in the open market. This option is a more expensive one, but it is your only option given the circumstances.
